Isaiah 61:1-3 NIV |
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God,to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

Let Us Pray:
Father God, thank you for the lives of your children crying out to you, giving thanks and praise for your goodness and mercy. I pray Father that their needs be met on this day, in the name of Jesus. Thank you for breakthroughs, healing, peace and joy. Help them to hold on to your unchanging hand while the world around them changes. Lord, I pray that no weapons formed against them shall prosper and they will cast all of their cares onto you, our Lord and Savior. In Jesus name, Amen! |

Did you know that there are five places in the New Testament where Jesus told us to "take up the cross"? Did you know that to be a follower of Christ, you are required to deny yourself? Jesus is calling us to deny ourselves and our own agendas. To deny self means we will remove our will from our hearts and put the will of Christ there first. We are expected to follow His path. The greatest hindrance to God's blessings is you. We have a difficult time giving up our own ambitions, desires and selfish ways. We are living in a time, where it is so easy to satisfy our wants. When we are hungry, we can eat at the nearest fast food restaurant. If we want a new outfit, we can easily run to the nearest mall. Even when times are financially tough, we find ways to satisfy ourselves.
But, Jesus is calling us to put our desires last and put him first! In the Gospel of Mark 8:34, Jesus tells the crowd that if anyone wants to be his follower, they must turn from their selfish ways, take up the cross and follow him. What will you benefit if you gain the whole world and lose your soul? By taking up the cross we declare ourselves to be willing to share in Jesus' suffering and death. |
It is then understood that no matter what happens as we carry the cross, Jesus is with us. Jesus is with us in our sorrow and pain and in our joys and laughter. If you put Christ first, you can have all of the desires of your heart. You can not put Christ first by focusing on your own plans. You must surrender your will to God and trust that He knows what's best for you! You must remember that you were created to become like Christ. Taking up the cross and dying to self is the act of total surrender. Surrendering to God brings freedom. You will know when you have totally surrendered to God when you rely on God to work things out. God can do a mighty work in you, when your life belongs too him.
If you want to live a life free from bondage, then you must take up the cross, deny yourself and follow Christ. You have a purpose in life and you will discover your purpose when you surrender to him! PRAYER: I realize that I have not totally denied myself. I ask for mercy and forgiveness and desire to follow after you. I surrender all of me to you now. AMEN |
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you. Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:16 NKJV
A young lady came to speak to me recently, stating that she did not want to live. She did not know why she was born. She shared that she had no reason to live. I took her in my arms and hugged her tightly and she felt something that she had not felt in a long time LOVE. We all need love and God is love. We all need God.
You were predestined to be here. You were created for God. So live your life for God! Colossians 1:16 clearly tells us that you were created through him and for him. The bottom line is; you are supposed to be here!! Have you ever wondered why you were born? What are you here for? Have you ever asked yourself the question, what am I supposed to do with my life? Suppose I told you that regardless of your age, regardless of how much money you have, the color of your skin, your marital status and life’s circumstances, you were born to fulfill a purpose! |
So many people have been living life not knowing what on earth they are supposed do. The word of God clearly tells us in Jeremiah 1:5 that God already knew you before you were formed in your mother’s womb.
When you decide to live for Jesus, your purpose will become clear From the beginning God had a divine plan for you. Don’t let the world define who you are, let the Word of God define who you are. If you open up the Bible, it will begin to speak to your heart and help you to discover who you are and why you are here on earth. We all have a purpose; everyone around the world was created by God and for God. We make the choice to live with and for God. Don’t waste any more time. Life is too short! You have a marvelous life ahead of you. Your past may have been filled with trouble, but God is the author of tomorrow and in God you will find the peace that you deserve. The World can’t give you the peace that God can give you. God is calling your name, Listen!! He is calling you! Since you were in your mother’s womb, He has been calling you. God is calling your name. He has a plan for your life. All you have to say is "YES Lord!" |
